Atomic Station

Atomic Station is based on a novel by Nobel prize-winning author, Halldór Laxness, and shot in both Icelandic and English. A beautiful and intelligent young country girl comes to post-war Reykjavik to work as a maid in a prominent citizen's home while studying music. She becomes emotionally involved with her attractive middle-aged employer and finds it hard to choose between him and her boyfriend, a younger more idealistic man. Her story is told against a background of intrigue, in which politicians secretly negotiate the establishment of a foreign nuclear base.
