Straight Out: Stories from Iceland
Ever wonder what it would be like to grow up in a country where gays and lesbians have full legal protection including marriage and divorce? This multi-award winning documentary takes an honest look at what it is like to grow up gay in Iceland. Although Icelandic laws are considered very liberal towards gays and lesbians, the nine articulate lesbian and gay youth paint a picture of society which is somehow familiar. They still face the same issues that confront young queer people all around the world. How do you tell your family? Your friends? How do you find other people like yourself? How do you accept yourself and how do you get the respect you deserve?
