Based on Gudmundur Kamban's original screenplay about tragic love, this "chamber-play" is the writer's debut as a film director and also the first feature film directed by an Icelander. Kamban felt it was of upmost importance to write directly for the screen and explore its possibilities instead of depending on adoptions of literary works.
