Cruelty

Reykjavik, a city known for its carefree lifestyle and peaceful
existence is rocked when two sisters (seven and ten) who have been
missing for the past three days are found brutally murdered.
All half decent detectives are called into the fray, our standouts are
Edda Davíðsdóttir and Jóhannes Scram.

Both no nonsense detectives determined to be the ones who solve the puzzle by any means necessary. When gruesome details of the case start to come out the focus of the
investigation turns to the city´s worst. Useless tips flood in along with the line of usual suspects.

The grief stricken single mother tries to mask her pain with alcohol. But as she drags further into the pit of despair her mental health start to deteriorate. Along with the crime investigation the movie follows a bewildered brother of the lead detective Edda. Newly released from prison and trying to rebuild his life but when the fingers start to point at him his life faces another turn.

All these stories combine into a thrilling novelistic mosaic tale that echoes societies fear and uncertainty of not knowing.
